Welcome to You in Motion, Your Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Resource!

Welcome! You have received the first issue of You in Motion, a free electronic newsletter from Heartland Orthopedic Specialists, the proven team of experts in orthopedic and sports medicine care. In addition to providing orthopedic care, Heartland Orthopedic Specialists’ sports medicine program has been getting injured athletes and weekend warriors back in the game since 1994.

From prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, the Heartland Orthopedic Specialists’ sports medicine team will be there from start to finish with the goal of returning patients to an active lifestyle.

Suffering a serious injury while playing a sport or performing a hobby can leave patients without use of some of the most important areas of the musculoskeletal system. Using expert bone, joint, and muscle physicians and expert surgeons, rehabilitation specialists, and athletic trainers on-site, the sports medicine program at Heartland Orthopedic Specialists is able to treat patients of any age and physical ability.

In addition to treating the weekend warrior, the sports medicine experts at Heartland Orthopedic Specialists are the official providers for the Alexandria Beetles, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, University of Minnesota-Morris, and seven area high schools.

“One of the unique aspects of our sports medicine program is that athletic trainers work at area high schools, colleges, and sports facilities to provide expert care,” says Dr. Eric W. Nelson, sports medicine expert at Heartland Orthopedic Specialists. “Through our sports medicine program, patients can be assured that their injury will be treated with the kind of care and dedication it deserves.”
