San Antonio Spurs all-star is now recovering from a successful ankle procedure performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel. Originally injured in the 2008 NBA playoff series against the Suns, Manu Ginobili re-injured his left ankle during the 2008 Olympics.

Dr. Friedman’s Expertise Requested for ACL Study
A controversial study regarding the use of cadaver tissue to repair anterior cruciate ligaments, or ACLs, was published late June 2008. Dr. Marc Friedman was contacted by the Los Angeles Times for his opinion.
The article titled, “Study on ACL repair focuses on allografts” questions the effectiveness of allografts, the use of cadaver tissue, versus autografts, the use of the patient’s tissue, in the ACL repairs of young, active adults.
The article was included in the health section of the July 14, 2008 edition of the Los Angeles Times.

Study on ACL repair focuses on allografts
Dr. Auerbach Treats Timberwolves Center
Jason Collins, Minnesota Timberwolves center and former Stanford standout, is recovering from successful surgery to repair a partial rupture of his triceps tendon. Dr. David Auerbach of Southern California Orthopedic Institute performed the surgery in September.
Dr. Auerbach specializes in treatment of the hand, shoulder, wrist, and elbow. He sees patients in Van Nuys and Thousand Oaks offices.
