Dr. Lantz Completes Fourth Medical Mission Trip to Haiti

For the past four years, Dr. Brick A. Lantz, orthopedic surgeon at Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, has coordinated volunteer medical trips to Haiti, where he and a group of Slocum Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine employees and other volunteers provided free orthopedic and surgical care to patients in need.

"There is a great need for orthopedic care in Haiti, and we are so fortunate to be able to provide treatment to patients who desperately need it," Dr. Lantz says. “We worked at Hospital Bon Samaritain in Limbe, which is on the north side of Haiti. Last year, we performed 32 surgeries, general and orthopedic, and treated additional patients in the clinics.”

In addition to the medical care they provided, Dr. Lantz and the other volunteers repaired a roof at the hospital and cared for children at a local orphanage.
